Lyme Regis. Lyme Regis's famous curving harbour wall: sea views, boats, and a walk through literary history.
The Cobb is the historic stone harbour wall that curls out into Lyme Bay, sheltering the town's fishing and pleasure boats. Walk along the top for wide views back over the town, the beaches and the cliffs stretching east towards Golden Cap.
It's one of the most famous spots on the Jurassic Coast: Jane Austen set a dramatic scene in Persuasion on its steps, and it starred in the film of The French Lieutenant's Woman.
The upper wall is uneven and has no railings, so take care, especially in wind or rain.
