Beaches and fossilsCharmouth beach and Heritage Coast Centre
Charmouth. A family beach famous for fossils, with a free visitor centre right on the seafront.
Charmouth's beach is one of the most popular fossil-hunting spots on the Jurassic Coast. Fossils wash out of the cliffs with every storm, so there's always something new to find among the pebbles.
The Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre on the seafront has fossil displays and information about the coast, and runs guided fossil hunting walks.
As everywhere on this coast, check the tides and keep away from the cliffs.
